Do I need an internet connection?
Nope. Mobitub works on any local Wi-Fi network, even if the network isn't connected to the internet. As long as everyone is on the same network — guest, public, or private — the room comes alive.
Is my data private?
Yes. Messages, files, and game state are exchanged peer-to-peer between devices on the network and encrypted in transit. Nothing is stored in the cloud, and sessions are deleted when the room empties.
Do I need to create an account?
No accounts, no passwords. Pick a handle and you're in. If you want to keep a persistent profile across rooms, you can — it's opt-in and lives only on your device.
Which devices does Mobitub support?
Mobitub runs on iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows. Anything that can join a Wi-Fi network can join a Mobitub room.
Can I use Mobitub at a public Wi-Fi hotspot?
Yes — coffee shops, libraries, hotels, airports, and event Wi-Fi all work great. Some networks isolate clients from each other (called "AP isolation"); when that's on, Mobitub will let you know and suggest a workaround.
How is this different from Slack, Discord, or iMessage?
Those are global. Mobitub is local. It's designed for the people already in the same physical place — the energy of a room, not a feed of friends scattered across the world.
Is Mobitub free?
Mobitub is free for individuals. Venues, schools, and businesses that want branded rooms, custom domains, and analytics can grab a Mobitub for Teams plan.
